This championship was the clubs first success in their long history. Fenerbahçe won the 1911–12 season of the Istanbul Football League without losing. The first coach of the Fenerbahçe was Hüseyin Dalaklı, who was also the team's player. Struggling with financial difficulties, Fenerbahçe joined the Istanbul Football League in 1909, finishing fifth in their first year.
